Intro / What is The Gabriel Method Diet ?

The Gabriel Method is a diet without all the stigma of a diet. In this book the author describes how the human body will go into a starvation mode and begin to gain weight, all due to what we eat. According to Jon Gabriel when we mainly eat foods that are high in fat and low in nutrients, our bodies go into a starvation mode that causes us to retain as much of the energy containing fats as our body can keep.

This plan teaches you how to put your body into feast mode, where more fats will be burned off. The result is a metabolic rate more desirable to those trying to maintain a healthy weight.

Who is Jon Gabriel ?

Jon-Gabriel-before-and-after1 His whole story places him at a job as a stockbroker in New York. At that time he topped the scales at more than 400 pounds. He had a background in bio-chemistry and put it to use to figure out why not only he didn’t lose weight, buy why he sometimes gained weight.

His result (over 200 pounds lost) has taken him to see his own stockbroker. His book has skyrocketed on the bestsellers list. Today, he travels and lectures, interviews and talks. Jon and many others believe than this book needs to be read by everyone, not just those people dieting.

The major part of this plan is mental and it isn’t really done up with a lot of stuff. You will receive the 252 page book that gives you all the author’s thoughts on dieting, and a CD for those that just have to have the video. There is also an e-book of the same title. The Kindle version of the book will cost you around $12.00 and the book and CD will run around the same.

As mentioned before, the Gabriel Diet Method is more of a mental than a physical diet. But, the author does explain that exercise is an important way to help burn off the fat and help you to lose the pounds. Increasing activities is highly recommended, and a few interval exercises are suggested.

Since this plan is an more of a change in eating habit than a physical workout, most of the book concentrates on the nutritive values and psyche required to become thinner. His plan intends to teach your body the correct weight to be at then let your body do the rest. There is no real specific meal plan, or diet to follow, only suggested food types and lots of information on how to eat. There isn’t any calorie counting or portion sizing, only suggestions of foods that are high in Omega 3, minerals and vitamins. He also recommends staying away from highly processed and manufactured foods.

As good as this diet sounds, there are a few down sides to it:

  • Holistic approach. (I put this here too, as some may not desire this way of life.
  • No specific or detailed plan or diet.
  • This method is slow. If you just want to lose a few pounds to get back into that dress for the reunion, then this isn’t for you.

Our Conclusion

One of the most popular diets on the market today, and for some very good reasons. No measuring, weighing, or counting. No workouts at the gym or home that leave you drained of energy all day. Deals more with the inner then the outer, changing habits and ways of thinking, and this is the way to go about losing those pesky pounds for the long term, not just a few weeks then they’re back. We highly recommend this book for that reason alone.
